Eskimo Joe @ 100 Club, Collie, Western Australia
12th January 2007 | Canon 400D

Back in January 07, some of Perth’s favourite sons, Eskimo Joe, played a secret show down in Collie for the reopening of the 100 Club. I won’t delve into the reasons for the reopening, nor what brought Eskimo Joe down to the 100 Club, other than it was a great moment for the local community.
This shot’s of frontman Kav Temperley. For anyone interested,  “the Eskies” (as colloquially known) recently released their latest album entitled “Inshalla”, seeing the band further expand their horizons. It sounds great, is produced with Gil Norton, and the band is out on the road later this month and throughout August with a number shows around Australia. They’re also playing the Gurten festival over in Switzerland next weekend too.
As for why I was at a secret show some two hours south of Perth? I’d hitched a ride with a tech who was working the show, and was pleasantly surprised with the venue, the mood, and the whole evening in general.
Plus, it’s a pretty cool feeling checking into a hotel purely to use the shower.
